A Kerala minimum-wage figure needs its scheduled employment, classification, location where relevant, effective period and VDA. A table missing those fields can give a precise-looking answer for the wrong worker. Start with the scheduled employment finder and the official Labour Commissionerate source.

Identify work and classification

Record what the establishment does and what the employee actually does. Select the notified employment and grade from the applicable text. A job title used internally may not match the notification's category. Where two categories appear plausible, retain the reasoning or ask for a classification review.

Read the effective window

A publication date, effective date and payroll month can differ. Preserve the final notification and any separate VDA order. Do not assume a draft establishes the payable rate or that a new page on a portal means the rate started that day.

Keep basic minimum and VDA together

Use the notified basis for both components and check any CPI points, base index and point rate used in the relevant order. The date pattern of one employment should not be assumed to apply to every employment. If the source is an unreadable scan, confirm the figure before publishing or remitting it.

Calculate arrears by month

The arrears calculator accepts the notified rates you enter and lays out the period difference. Record the actual paid wage, applicable rate and payable days for each month; revisions and attendance can change the answer within the schedule.

Maintain the evidence

Keep the notification, grade decision, VDA order, payroll extract, attendance and settlement acknowledgement together. A calculator can organise arithmetic; it cannot make an uncertain classification or unverified rate authoritative.
